This Could Be a Movie: Connecting writers and filmmakers

Along with the Slovene Cinematheque, the Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature Office invites you for a summer get-together with books and film screenings, taking place at the Slovene Cinematheque’s Open-Air Cinema (in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova) between 10 and 15 August. 
 

The popular Open-Air Book Fair is returning to the wonderful garden of the Slovene Writers' Association. For three days, 50 publishers will offer their best and newest editions at affordable prices, with the accompanying program allowing visitors to furher delve into the work of both authors and publishers.

In addition to Ljubljana, the book fair will take place in Koper, Celje and Novo mesto (between 15 and 19 June). 
 

Between 22 and 25 April, the Couch Fair – an online bookstore, available at www.sejemskavca.si – will open its doors, with more than 50 Slovenian publishers offering more than 500 carefully selected books at affordable prices. The purchasing process is made simple by a single shopping basket and the possibility of a single shipment.

 

A Chronicle of Forgetting was translated by Rawley Grau and published by The Slovene Writers' Association in 2019 (the original was published by Založba Goga in 2014), with the translator and critic Tanja Petrič contributing the foreword. The book was nominated by the Ljubljana City Library.
